Throughout gaming history there has always been those gaming titles that showed lots of promise. But some of them never live up to their hype and die off with most people soon forgetting about them and never returning to play them. The guys over at IGN.com have come up with a list of the top 10 video games that showed such promise but failed to live up to their hype causing them to flop and being quickly forgotten by most gamers. Below is the list of the top 10 video game flops!

10. The Atari Jaguar
9. Shenmue
8. Lair
7. Messiah
6. Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness
5. Driv3r
4. E.T.
3. Superman
2. Daikatana
1. Pac-Man

The games highlighted in bold are games that I myself have played at one point.

Being an avid FPS (First Person Shooter) gamer myself it seems that this list is only necessary. There have been tons of FPS games released in both the console and PC world of gaming, but there is only an elite small group of those games that are played time and time again despite how old they get. With myself playing many of these games over and over, I can for sure agree that this is is almost dead on when it comes to the 28 best FPS games of all time. So without wasting anymore time…. here is the list:

28. Return to Castle Wolfenstein
27. Blood
26. Tribes 2
25. Turok 2: Seeds of Evil
24. The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay
23. No One Lives Forever 2: A Spy in H.A.R.M.’s Way
22. Alien vs. Predator 2
21. TimeSplitters: Future Perfect
20. Counter-Strike: Source
19. Thief: The Dark Project
18. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas
17. Battlefield 1942
16. Far Cry
15. Unreal Tournament
14. Metroid Prime
13. Perfect Dark
12. Crysis
11. Deus Ex
10. F.E.A.R.
9. System Shock II
8. Halo 3
7. Duke Nukem 3D
6. Quake II
5. Doom II
4. GoldenEye 007
3. BioShock
2. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
1. Half-Life 2

So there it is, the games that are in bold are the ones I either own myself and/or have played a good bit of. (which happens to be quite a few of them) For anyone who wants to read up on the full article from GamePro.com which has little summaries for each game and why it was picked, just follow this link to read it from their website.

Ok, so back in mid September I had a little post about The 32 Best Xbox 360 Games. Well I am once again back with another similar list only this time it is a list dealing with the best games for the PC. Just like console games, if you are an avid gamer on the PC there is a very high chance you have played a good many of the games and that some of them are actually some of your favorites too! (I know they are for me.) From puzzle games to FPS shooters to MMOs, this list has a little bit of everything so I would suggest you check it out and see what they have to offer in this list of the best PC games!

Without wasting anymore time talking about the list, here it is:

32. The Sims 2
31. Wing Commander IV: The Price of Freedom
30. Counter Strike: Source
29. System Shock 2
28. Grim Fandango
27. Deus Ex
26. Command and Conquer: Red Alert
25. Half-Life
24. Indigo Prophecy
23. Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow
22. Thief: Deadly Shadows
21. Crysis
20. Fallout 2
19. Supreme Commander
18. TIE Fighter
17. Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War
16. Battlefield 2
15. The Longest Journey
14. Psychonauts
13. Half-Life 2
12. Sins of a Solar Empire
11. Diablo II
10. Company of Heroes
9. Unreal Tournament 2004
8. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
7. Starcraft
6. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
5. Peggle
4. The Orange Box
3. Civilization IV
2. Quake 3 Arena
1. World of Warcraft

So there it is, while its a pretty good list overall, there are a few games on there I am not a big fan of but as you can see, I have played quite a few of them (ones I have played a bunch or own are in bold). I have to give it to the guys over at GamePro for another great list and if you would like to read the original article with little summaries of each game… just follow this LINK to check it out there!

Ok, so if you are a hardcore console gamer who loves a wide variety of games from puzzles to bloody shooter games, there is a good chance that you probably own or have owned a Xbox 360. With their awesome Xbox Live community that has stuff just about every game, to the hand-loving controller that comes with it that allows you to use it for hours on end without becoming uncomfortable, this is one console in my opinion that has alittle of something for everyone!

Well… it seems that the guys over at GamePro released a list of the 32 best games on the Xbox 360 and while I haven’t played them all, there are quite a few on this list I either own or have spent a good amount of time playing. Without wasting anymore time, here is the list:

32: Rez HD
31: Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords
30: Crackdown
29: Fight Night Round 3
28: Dead Rising
27: Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise
26: Need for Speed: Carbon
25: Pac-Man Championship Edition
24: Battlefield: Bad Company
23: Blue Dragon
22: Dead or Alive 4
21: Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars
20: N+
19: Saints’ Row
18: Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2
17: Bomberman Live
16: Guitar Hero III
15: Call of Duty 2
14: Burnout Paradise
13: The Orange Box
12: Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas 2
11: Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2
10: BioShock
9: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion: Game of the Year Edition
8: Assassin’s Creed
7: Rock Band 2
6: Mass Effect
5: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
4: Braid
3: Gears of War
2: Grand Theft Auto IV
1: Halo 3

Ok, so there is the list, bolded are the games I have played (a ton) on the Xbox 360 or even the PC version of the games. Regardless, the list is a good one, and overall I will have to say it was a job well done. If you would like to read the full article released by GamePro click on this LINK to check out some small summaries along with the game titles!
