Google to possibly acquire Valve?

Ok, so with my day off today and hunting around the internet for stuff to keep my busy, I happened to come across a good many articles and posts on other blogs about rumors that Google is looking to possibly buy out Valve to have them for themselves! From what I have read so far, it seems there is a bit of mixed emotions about it coming from people as some think (along with me) that this would be huge in allowing Valve to further their ever so popular product “Steam” in which they use now to advertise and release new games. While the other side seems to think it would be a bad move as Setam would be riddled with Google Ads along with other things that wouldn’t be needed or wanted in Steam. Neverless I must say with the Half-Life series being my most favorite game of all time and which I am a big fan of… I suppose I can also call myself a fan of Valve and I think it would be pretty cool if this was to happen! One of game maker Valve’s most valuable properties is Steam, on online service that works as a distribution, communication and anti-piracy platform. Steam may also be the reason Google is reportedly in talks to purchase Valve, though neither company has confirmed whether a deal is in the works.

UPDATE: It seems that Doug Lombardi has commented ont he matter and says that it is pure rumor so it doesn’t look like we will see any buying out of Valve from the giant known as Google! But interestingly enough he did also say that they were open to being bought if the right offer comes along! Guess we will have to wait and see!
